Founded in 2003, the SPSA soon established itself as a much-needed source of help and support for Somerset men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families. SPSA is a registered charity and run entirely by volunteers, many with personal experience of PC and the effect it has on their lives and that of their families.

‘Fishing for Life’ is an organization which provides free fly-fishing sessions for people who all have one thing in common – breast cancer. Meetings are held every month and members are able to learn to fly fish under the supervision of qualified coaches.

The Bristol Community Health Specialist Community Neurology Service is led by a range of healthcare professionals who support patients with a neurological impairment. The service can provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy with the support of therapy assistants to those with a neurological diagnosis including cancer.

The service is open to adults (over 18) registered with a Bristol GP. Patients and carers can self-refer or be referred by healthcare professionals

Provide an in-patient service for head and surgery (without plastic surgery reconstruction). This includes a pre-treatment assessment, and on-treatment multi-professional review clinic for radiotherapy patients, and an out-patient service for all head and neck follow-up (short and long term).

The team works closely with Dorchester SLT team to provide laryngectomy and valve changing support for patients in the East of the County.
