Firm Roots Cancer Prayer Support

Firm Roots Cancer Prayer Support Group meets monthly on the second Wednesday evening of the month. These meetings are held 7.30pm to 9.00pm at people’s homes in Bristol. People who join our prayer groups include those who have a cancer diagnosis, family and friends supporting someone through cancer and oncology staff. People from all different denominations attend and we also welcome people who do not attend church or are unsure about faith, but who would like to receive prayer and encouragement as they go through cancer. Our groups consist of coffee and cake time, a Bible theme/short talk, quiet space to pray, group discussion and group prayers. Each group meets monthly and has a prayer list for local people affected by cancer.

Get Your Oomph Back – A Guide to Exercise After a Cancer Diagnosis

It aims to support people to be active in whatever way they feel ready for and is written by a highly experienced cancer exercise specialist who has also had her own experience of cancer: while she was writing this book she was diagnosed with breast cancer herself. The book includes her approach to her own ‘prehab’ and ‘rehab’ along with the experiences of some of the people she has trained over the years.
