Life after Cancer brings people together who have finished cancer treatment to form support groups, with an aim to increase their physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. The support they receive reduces the risk of serious mental distress and helps them to build a positive life after their cancer experience.

The service offers a monthly risk management group class for breast cancer patients. The service is for cancer patients with lymphoedema or at risk of lymphoedema, providing early intervention up to 6 months post cancer treatment.

The Lymphoedema nurse-led community service provides assessment, treatment and advice for people living within the Bath and North East Somerset area who are registered with a BANES GP.
Patients can be referred via a Health Care Professional e.g. GP, Community Matron, Community District Nurse. A health and medication summary and relevant investigations e.g. Doppler or blood tests and any previous known lymphoedema treatment is required prior to initial assessment.
At the first visit, which may take up to 60-90 minutes, assessment will include measurement of limb swelling and compression therapy using specialist bandaging or garments may be recommended. Additional treatments may include lymphatic drainage, skincare and exercise.
The service provides outpatient clinics 9am-5pm at Paulton Hospital on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays located in Keynsham Health Centre and Riverside clinic in central Bath. Home visits can be offered for people who are unable to attend clinic due to health restrictions.

The Lymphoedema team provide patient assessment and management including intensive courses of therapy which may include Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression bandaging and hosiery and maintenance therapy.
The specialist lymphoedema service is available at Dorothy House Hospice, for palliative patients. This can be for in and out patients, Day Patient Services, and home visits if required. For Mendip and Somerset area, non-palliative and non-cancer referrals are accepted. Currently clinics based in Frome & Winsley.

The hospital hosts an Aftercare clinic for patients of all ages who have been successfully treated for cancer between 0-24 years and now reside in the South West. It is a clinical service offering holistic needs assessments by specialists in long term follow up. The multi-disciplinary team includes consultants, a nurse specialist and a health and wellbeing practitioner.
